About the Position
Position Description
Since 1971, Colonial Summer Staff has been a place for college students to live out the gospel of the Kingdom through hands-on ministry. Each summer, we hire 12ā15 college-aged students who are passionate about following Jesus and serving in student ministry. Over the course of 9 weeks, Summer Staffers live in community, receive intentional discipleship, and gain ministry experience by serving in middle school, high school, and college ministry across both of our campuses.
During the summer months, plan and execute Junior High and High School ministries in a manner that glorifies Jesus Christ. Summer staffers live together in church dorms. In the mornings, staffers are equipped through Bible studies, seminars, spiritual disciplines, and personal devotion time. In the afternoons, they invest in students through Bible studies, discipleship, and relational ministry. Reports to: Student Ministries Directors Teams with other members of the Summer Staff
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop personal devotional life through practicing spiritual disciplines.
- Pray for the ministry including (but not limited to) students, parents, volunteers, and staff.
- Develop personal relationships with students (both within Colonial and the community).
- Lead a small group of students in a discipleship relationship.
- Plan weekly club meetings and activities.
- Share the Gospel through small groups and involvement in the community.
- Live in Christian community in the church dormitory.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a student who is actively involved in a ministry at school or church.
- Must profess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and a desire to work with students.
- Must have a solid understanding of basic biblical principles and be comfortable in sharing those principals and the gospel message with students ā both in a group and one-on-one environment.
- Must possess and be able to demonstrate leadership, organizational and administrative skills that will allow for a successful ministry.
- Must have a valid driverās license and reliable access to transportation.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Competitive pay for 9 weeks
