About the Position

Position Description

Each year, the Dale House Project welcomes 6-8 individuals ages 22+ from across the country. Participants are expected to live in DHP-provided housing, with a move-in date in August 2025. This program has three goals:

  • Experience deep relational ministry with youth in challenging life experiences
  • Live in an intentional living community with other committed Christians
  • Become a closer follower of Jesus, intentionally practicing spiritual disciplines to make sense of your calling as a Christian leader and draw closer to Jesus.

Relational Ministry Discipleship staff help in:

  • An employment service, which builds basic work readiness skills and prepares youth for career work
  • A housing service, where youth live on the block and develop greater confidence in managing their own living situation while building community
  • A variety of other services, including groups, activities, trips, and mentorship.
  • You will also be matched with one youth to be their primary support person as they work towards becoming an independent adult. And, more importantly, you love them by showing up in the details and commitments of everyday life, by building ā€˜relational bank’ together, by planning activities, having deep conversations, and sharing the love of Jesus.

Engage in community

Work within the broader Dale House community while also living with other Discipleship staff, leaning on each other in the hard work and encouraging each other to seek Jesus together and reflect deeply on how your life and the life of youth intersect. Part of the adventure of the year will be spending time with other Discipleship Staff on retreats, having fun together, hearing from the perspectives of each other, learning to step out in faith, and trusting the Holy Spirit in any type of situation.

Follow Jesus

Ministry with our youth is stretching and tiring. They carry great burdens that they struggle to overcome. It is vital for staff to seek Jesus intentionally throughout this year. The discipleship year schedule has 8-10 hours of every week devoted to the formation of our staff, where you are encouraged to seek Jesus together and learn how to follow him more closely to further know the vastness and depth of his love for you.

Compensation Salary - $30,000 per year Housing is provided by Dale House Project on our campus. Housing costs $350 per month, including utilities. It is a requirement for discipleship staff to live in DHP-provided housing. Benefits: Dale House covers the cost for health coverage (monthly premiums) at no expense to you. Other Young Life benefits include: dental, vision, basic life insurance, and a match on 401(k) contributions up to 4%.
